I bought this car back in February of 2004 as a daily driver. Drove everyday for two years, from 2006 till now, it has been a part time car. It is a rot free, inland, Southern California car, it never had any major rust or rot to begin with, most these unrestored Falcons and Comets have rust issues by now, the worst you'll find on this car is superficial, surface rust which any car of this era is going to have unless it's been completely restored and /or spent all it's life in a climate controlled garage. It spent a few short years of it's life in a garage in Southern Oregon, 60 miles inland from the coast. Currently has a clear Oregon title with an Oregon Special Interest plate, the plate does not go with the car.
It was pretty stock when I got it and I have been modding the car since. The front end treatment was inspired by some of the Edsel Comet prototype photos I saw years ago.

Body mods:
Shaved hood, cowl, fenders, doors (including the rear handles), trunk. Front bumper molded, converted to single headlights, Econoline bezels, rear roll pan, custom taillights, raised driveshaft tunnel. I have done all the body mods with exception of the front bumper treatment, shaving the cowl and the driveshaft tunnel, those three mods were done many years ago by Ian Roussel before he reached his current celebrity like status.

Engine: 200 C.I. removed from a (I believe) a '68 Falcon originally. It's stock other than the Duraspark ignition. Still have the stock points distributor that goes with the car. Miles on the engine unknown. Runs great but does use a little oil. No smoking or leaks. Has been converted to a three row radiator from a late '60s Mustang to help with cooling.

Transmission: Rebuilt 2 speed Ford-O-Matic by King's Transmission in Glendale, CA with a NOS shift kit that was acquired from Trans-Matic right down the street from them back in 2005. It still shifts great. I do have a receipt for it somewhere I haven't seen in a while. I can look for it if needed. Both places are now out of business.

Rear Axle: Rebuilt from a '78 Fairmont with 2.73 highway gears by Hoopers in Sun Valley, CA back in 2005. Car originally had 3.50 gears. Same story with the receipt here, have it somewhere just can't remember where it is. Hoopers is still in business last I checked.

Suspension: Front - lowered approximately 3" via modified coils, KYB shocks, raised shock tower mounts. I was going to convert the car to a dual pot master cylinder and front discs with the Scarebird stuff, I still have the the pre-bent hard brake lines for the master cylinder that goes with the car.
Rear - 4" angled blocks, air shocks.

Wheels / Tires: Out are the ridiculously small 13" wheels these cars came stock with and in are the hard to find 4 lug 14"x5" steel wheels painted a fine silver flake with Starliner wheel covers. I still have the set of dog dish style hub caps and that go with the car. Currently has new 195/75/14 radials with thin whites all around.

Electrical: All lights, turn signals, two speed wipers, cigarette lighter, defroster / heater and gauges work! Brake lights switch was removed from the master cylinder and converted to the GM style that is now mounted under the dash, much more safe and reliable than stock switch. Has stock horn along with an "ooga" horn. I was going to convert it to alternator if the generator ever failed, (generator was rebuilt back in 2005 and has been fine since), I do have one of the alternator brackets needed for the conversion I got off a early 70s Maverick that I'll look for and send off with the car if wanted.

Interior: Pretty stock with the exception of the after market stereo system and SUN Tach under the dash. Has two 6"x9"s in the rear package tray (I think they were 3-ways) with the chrome Mooneyes music note covers and an aftermarket speaker where the front one was originally as well. The gas pedal came off a mid 60's car (can't remember what now) and the steel throttle linkage was converted to a cable, I do still have the stock gas pedal and steel throttle linkage if wanted. The driver's side bench is torn and will need to be upholstered. Headliner is showing it's sign of age as well. All the glass is in very nice shape considering the car's age. I have a stock radio delete plate that can go with the car. Added black, lift latch style seat belts in the front.

I have tried to describe the car as best as I could, if unsure about anything please ask questions. I can send more pictures or video. It's not perfect, not a show car, just a nice driver, could definitely benefit from a new paint job. Car is actually very reliable, economical and practical, doesn't leak fluids, or make any strange noises. I've driven it on many long trips including So Cal to Vegas several times and So Cal to Oregon. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.
