Ahrim the Blighted's equipment (2024)

Ahrim the Blighted's equipment is obtainable from the Barrows minigame. A full set consists of Ahrim's robetop, robeskirt, hood, and staff. The set requires 70 Magic and 70 Defence to wear, and 70 Attack to use the staff. Ahrim's robes give Melee Defence bonuses that Magic robes normally don't have, which makes it somewhat popular for PvP situations. The staff, on the other hand, is not commonly used, and the set effect is generally not seen as particularly useful; however, the staff is able to autocast Ancient Magicks when a full set is equipped alongside an amulet of the damned (otherwise it provides spells from the standard spellbook). Ahrim's (along with other Barrows equipment) degrades over a period of 15 hours, but only in combat.

Ahrim's set offers some of the best Magic bonuses available and is normally recommended for fighting various high level monsters. It is one of the few sets of magical robes that give Defence bonuses against things other than Magic. This is further reinforced by the fact that the robes look like a combination of chainmail and robes. Like chainmail, it is strong against crush attacks; however, more like dragonhide, it is weak to slash and strong against stab. However, Bloodbark armour provides slightly better Melee defence and is significantly cheaper. Ahrim's armour provides no Ranged protection. It is also noticeably heavier than other Magic armour; the full set weighs approximately 19kg, with the top and bottom alone weighing 4.5 and 11.3. This makes it less practical for activities where lots of running is required, such as Chambers of Xeric.

The hood, robetop and robeskirt each gives a 1% Magic damage bonus for a total of 3%.

Degradation[edit | edit source]

Barrows equipment degrades as it is used. Equipment received from the Barrows minigame is fully repaired and can be used for 15 hours of combat until it degrades completely and requires repair before it can be used again. Barrows armour degrades even if the player is using protection prayers or not taking damage. Barrows equipment does not suffer in performance as it degrades from fully repaired to fully degraded. Fully repaired Barrows items start out with no numbers in their names, e.g. Ahrim the Blighted's equipment. It will become Ahrim the Blighted's equipment 100 the first time it's used in combat. Eventually it will degrade to Ahrim the Blighted's equipment 75, then 50, then 25 and finally 0 at which point the armour will be unusable until repaired. Additionally, Barrows equipment may only be traded if fully repaired or fully degraded.

When dropped or lost on death, any piece of Barrows equipment will automatically degrade to 0. Players who attempt to drop Barrows equipment will receive a warning message about this. As a bank note, dropping will not break the equipment.

There are two ways to repair Barrows armour. Players can talk to any of the NPCs listed below and they will repair the items for a price, or repair the pieces themselves using an armour stand in any player-owned house. The equipment can be repaired at any stage, and the cost will be adjusted according to how much it has degraded. The repair costs below are as if the equipment has fully degraded.

The following NPCs can repair the armour:

  • Bob - the axe seller in Lumbridge
  • Tindel Marchant - the weapon and armour repairman at Port Khazard
  • Dunstan - the smith in Burthorpe
  • Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knights' Outpost
