Copycat KFC Fried Chicken Recipe

If so, you're in luck because we've whipped up a Copycat KFC Fried Chicken Recipe in our test kitchen that is so good, we bet you can fool your friends and family into thinking it's from the drive thru! Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
- 1 tablespoon herbs de provence
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup cornstarch
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup water
KFC Fried Chicken Recipe
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, pepper, seasoned salt, and herbs de provence. Beat eggs into water in separate bowl.

Rinse chicken pieces and pat dry. Lightly dip pieces in flour, then into the egg mixture. Finally dip once more into the flour.

Deep fry in oil until golden brown and cooked through.

I have seen so many recipes for so called copy cat Kentucky fried chicken.There are suppose to be eleven herbs and spices and I haven't seen any with that amount of seasoning. How can you call something a copy cat when it isn't. Where are the rest of the herbs and spices. I'm not trying to be rude or any thing like that. I just don't understand this.

Back in the 70's a woman's magazine, Woman's Day, I think, sent some KFC to a lab and had it analized and then they published a recipe. I copied it, and the next month they had to publish a retraction. I still have that recipe and it's good.

Can the most flavorful chicken really be this simple? Herbs de Provence...I've always wondered what I should do with it and now I'm definitely going to put this recipe to the test. Do you think this would have the same results if it were baked? I mean minus the oil seeping through the chicken which is never a bad thing for taste but I'm trying to monitor my fried food intake.

Because of our empty nest, I have all but stopped frying chicken. This may be a reason for me to break out that old iron skillet once again. At least one a week, my husband and I will have chicken from a fast food chain but if I can prepare a knock off KFC, gotta try it.

When I am in the mood for fried chicken the place to go is KFC. Because of the mess created when frying chicken, I have pretty much stopped frying my own. However, if this can match FKC, I am back in the game.

I love KFC, and this Inspired by KFC's Secret Fried Chicken recipe delivers all the flavor that I love so much about KFC. Being able to make it at home is absolutely great, and a lot more cost effective. Now, if I can just find a recipe for they're cole slaw I'd be all set.

I love to eat fried chicken but I've never made it before. KFC is one of the best, I think. I always wondered what they put on the chicken for seasoning and now I can see I'll have to do a little research to get the herbs de provence. Dipping the chicken both before and after in the flour will probably give it that thick fried batting that I love so much! I do have a fryer so I'll be pulling that out and giving this recipe a try!

Yum, yum, yum. This recipe seems pretty simple to make. It looks totally scrumptious. I would love to make it. I have tried most of the fried chicken recipes on this site and have not been disappointed. I'm going to have to track down the herbs de provence or find out what is in it so I can find the closest alternative but I do believe that the secret to KFC's chicken is the herbs and spices so I think I must make the effort to ensure that I get the mixture right!

Herbs de provence contain a mix of majoram, parsely, basil, fennel, garlic powder , thyme and sea salt. Those are the contents listed on my jar. The brand name I have is "Supreme Tradition". I can't remember for the life of me where I bought this but it could be Aldi's , Dollar Tree stores, or Big Lots. In any case, it's very aromatic and should like like roast chicken , or turkey, I sprinkle this all over the bird.

The KFC commercials have recently left me craving fried chicken. But making my own homemade fried chicken is probably much healthier!

Great recipe! I don't like wings so I use drumsticks for my fried chicken. I don't think three eggs are really needed. Maybe two. The eggs help the flour coating stay on. That and the fact that you dip the chicken in flour before dipping in the egg mixture and after. This will change the way you think of homemade fried chicken.
