Description
As a Senior Project Manager and Scrum Master, you will be accountable for project management and scrum master duties of a large initiative with high complexity. Plans, coordinates and actively manages the IT delivery plans of technical solutions across a single technical product. Manages the end to end plan that is inclusive of all of the changes needed to a given technical product in support of initiative outcomes.
Providing project management expertise to related enterprise areas in accordance with Company-approved methodologies, you will assist in defining and managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk mitigation, and implementation strategies. You will perform all scrum master ceremonies while ensuring the scrum team is maintaining forward progress and being held accountable. Above all, you are a strategic problem solver who takes ownership of issues, moving between diverse tasks with tact, cooperation, and persistence, motivating and bringing out the best in those around you.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and monitor capacity & velocity planning of the scrum team
- Report on burndown metrics, have the ability to identify early in the project if scope and schedule is not aligning/at risk
- Drive clarity and transparency between all team members, leadership and partners on objectives, priorities and measures.
- Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project team or initiative; provides thought leadership.
- Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general department policies and industry guidelines.
- Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
- Maintain consistent lines of communication between engineering teams and program leadership
- Makes connections across teams and work streams to drive identification and managing of interdependencies.
- Coordinate integration environments such that dependencies can be tested together
- Supervise the progress of the dependent features throughout the CI/CD process
- Help lead and refine the tech-based backlog
- Closely monitor, mitigates, and/or escalate risks and cross-team dependencies as needed to leadership
- Assists product owner to define and continuously deliver business value through forward thinking, balanced solutions.
- Champions adoption of Agile standard methodologies and provides mentoring to the team, leadership and partners.
- Develop comprehensive delivery plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members, upon request
- Handle changes to scope and schedule as they occur
- Fulfill status reporting requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned, which would include tasks related to strategic planning
Bring Your Best! What this role needs:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of project management experience in technology functions.
- Experience with agile project management methodologies
- Working understanding of project management / agile tooling.
- Must have experience with JIRA and/or JIRA Align, and Confluence
- Experience working with distributed teams
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to dig into details, learn, ask questions and become the "go to expert" on certain concepts and topics.
- Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Seen as a team player and is supportive of group decisions and ideas.
- Written and oral communications skills with the ability to build rapport within the company, field and /or outside vendors.
- High degree of personal initiative and motivation.
- PMP certification preferred.
