Credit unions are great at supporting their community and giving to charitable causes...but do you see those struggling right in front of you? Some credit union employees serve members' financial needs all day only to go home and struggle to pay the bills. That's where The Community Impact Fund can help.My teammate Sean Galli recently interviewed Courtney Allen Lussenhop and Mike Scheid about CIF and their innovative Impact Loan Fund. As you'll see in the article, credit unions like WEOKIE Federal Credit Union and CBC Federal Credit Union are already making a difference internally and externally with CIF.Read the article at the link in the comments!#creditunions #communityimpact #employeeretention #employeebenefits #growthstrategy

Since opening in May of 2021, United Way’s Diaper Bank has hit many milestones and has served thousands of families in our four-county area. We couldn’t have done this without the help from local organizations, businesses, and our community who donate their time, effort, and money to help our Diaper Bank succeed.Read more about the importance of the Diaper Bank in this blog.https://lnkd.in/gKcK6AE8

We are fortunate to live in a great city like Brookhaven whose police department goes above and beyond the call of duty and continually exceeds expectations. Our officers have truly shown how community involvement by a police department makes such a positive impact.Help us support our officers through the Brookhaven Police Foundation (a 501 (c) (3) organization) by purchasing one of these great yard signs and showing your support for our police department. The donation is $25 but are taking larger donations as well. Last week, my family spent a couple of days up north helping my husband, Don Riedthaler and the Ignite Northwest team, in their company’s test kitchen make and package meals for hungry kids. Between Don and I having worked decades in the restaurant industry, owning a restaurant of our own and having Don (aka Dad) as the primary cook at home, we have an abundance of food surrounding us, especially around the holidays. It felt so good (thanks to the powerful happiness hormone, oxytocin) to spent time in service to others. In the process, I noticed 3 benefits that parallel the neuroscience research in this article written by Brian de Lottinvillehttps://lnkd.in/ggG4wUY31.Synergy2.Cooperation3.ConnectednessMore benefits observed:1.Empathy2.Laughter and play3.Conversation4.Future strategic planning and decision makingIt’s no wonder companies invest in team building where bonds can be formed. Though, upon reflection, the experience of helping others (for me) trumped some of the more prescriptive team building activities I’ve witnessed or participated in (karaoke bars, and escape rooms come to mind). What has your experience with team building been, and what are the possibilities for designing these opportunities with others in mind?If neuroscience fascinates you too, check out this article by Ritvo who writes about the neurochemical drivers of happiness: Dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin make up the Happiness Trifecta in this article:https://lnkd.in/gqrX5QDA
