Spoilers ahead!
So, there are those events and projects that rely on luck to work. The purpose of this thread is to help people get the best outcomes.
So, some questions:
1- when the derelict ship project gives good outcome instead of making your science ship blow?
2- does the event that creates the "from beyond" ship always create Unbidden crisis later?
3- what affects If the grimacing planet project Will be succesfull? Because I hate wasting 200 energy... And losing a 6 Physics resource.
People can add their answers and questions here, If someone looked the event files I would be happy.

For grimacing I just savescum, even on Ironman. If you exit to menu on an Ironman game, it will save what day you were on, so no worry about waiting 2 months for a favorable outcome. Ironman just makes savescumming more inconvenient.

1 - The good outcome is ridiculously rare (probably why there is an option to ignore this particular one), but it's basically "Everybody survives and you get some experience". Not really worth it. Besides that, I don't think there is a way to make it more likely to succeed.
2 - Nope, they're unrelated to eachother. But the ship looks cool so I like to get that anomaly. I don't know of any special interactions if you have that ship when the Unbidden arrive.
3 - Exactly what Robotkiller said: Save the game at 95% completion, then reload until it's habitable. Might take a while.

1- I think that if have a level 4or 5 scientist research it, they will notice the danger and avoid it. A lower level and it is time for another Survey Command funeral.

iirc it simple decrease the MTTH of Unbidden, other crisis might still happen earlier and prevent Unbidden from spawning.
I'd like to add the ancient terraforming equipment event to this list. Dismantle did nothing and still have the permanent negative modifier making everyone unhappy, and active it is just pure RNG and encourage save scumming. :/

Ancient terraforming isn't so bad when you're an extremely adaptive hivemind as you can ignore low hab in most cases, but the occurrence of mutants is too damn high.

Dismantle will give you the first terraforming tech for free, if you don't already have it.

It can also turn you planet into a toxic world or unleash hordes of mutants to conquer it.

It's a bit gamey, but when Derelict Ship project is completed, I have my scientist jump out of ship after getting the xp, so we just lose our science ship, with no survivors.
Now is not the time for fear. Crew going insane and ship blowing up happens later.

Build a bunch of defense armies before triggering it.

The ship from From Beyond is in no way connected to the Unbidden beside using their ship design. It's the (completely unrelated) Wonderlust event chain that makes Unbidden spawn faster.

I've never seen that event chain in my 672 hours of playing. What triggers it?

What happens if the mutants win?
Does it create a new species like the underground civilization event?

IIRC, it just becomes an occupied planet and you have to take it back.
Can also become a different planet type - turned my (whatever was habitable, can't remember) into an arid planet, forcing my pops to migrate. Gaia not guaranteed, alas.

It's one of the random starting events. Like the deep space probe retrieval event. It has a 1% chance of occurring at the start of any new game.

If I recall, defeating the mutants gives you the option to build a unique building with around +10 society research, or something like that, which is a nice side effect.

Every now and then, the crew will still be alive on the derelict ship. My scientist will cure them, and communications are opened with their empire. It gives a boast to the empires opinion, i can't remember if it was +20 or +50.

I once had it make my planet turn Acidic. Said it was clearly meant for an ammonia-based life. Interesting, as the game does not feature any ammonia-based sentient creatures, much less ones that would be scientifically advanced.

Hmm at this point I know most the troll events at this point. This just results in me save scumming or as with the grimacing planet taking the physics research instead.
